The portfolio of RZB ENERGY includes light columns and bollard luminaires of the BOCARO series with integrated charging function as well as bollards with pure charging function without lighting.

As a lighting and luminaire generalist the RZB design team developed a modular concept of luminaires with an integrated charging function in-house together with industrial designer Klaus Nolting (ON3D, Hamburg). Proven light columns and bollards from the BOCARO series, which previously functioned purely as outdoor lighting, were turned into hybrid products and the charging function smartly integrated into the design of the outdoor luminaires. This innovation and the outstanding design concept convinced the jury of this year's RED DOT Design Competition: the BOCARO series received the renowned award in the Urban Design category.

BOCARO offers an architecturally uniform, Dark Sky-compliant lighting solution paired with charging options for e-cars in public and private areas that comply with calibration regulations. Even in inner cities, standard-compliant lighting and the expansion of the charging infrastructure can now be perfectly combined.

Added value for all those involved: instead of the necessary work of different trades, a single channel can be used for the installation of lighting and charging points - and all in one work step. This saves costs, time and work for clients and installers. Residents and users also benefit, because with charging powers of up to 22 kW, time-saving charging processes can also be carried out with lighting that ensures orientation and safety.
