With the LEDONA recessed LED downlight, luminaire maker RZB Rudolf Zimmermann, Bamberg GmbH launches another product which integrates state-of-the-art lighting technology, featuring high energy efficiency and sophisticated design. Ledona round and Ledona square luminaires are available both in an IP 65 rated and an IP 20 rated version. This die-cast aluminium LED downlight series with passive cooling element, which comprises three different sizes (Mini D 140, Midi D 180 and Maxi D 230 mm) with luminous flux values ranging from 1,000 to 4,000 lumens, is suitable for a wide range of application domains, such as offices, corridors, representative spaces, lobbies, conference rooms, exhibition and shopping facilities, projecting roofs, commercial kitchens, damp environments or sports facilities.
The IP 65 version ensures a high degree of protection for reflector and LED against dirt and moisture, even on the rear of the luminaire (i.e. in the intermediate ceiling).
Thanks to its reduced recessed height the Ledona series is ideally suited also for low recess depths (Mini: 79/82 mm, Midi: 89/92 mm, Maxi: 108/111 mm). The innovative and appealing aluminium reflector, which is available in a high-gloss (IP 20) or a matt (IP 65) version, integrates the latest reflector technology with four segments and integrated light mixing chamber, which allows for harmonious lighting and optimum glare reduction with UGR values ranging from 18 to 21 despite the high luminous flux values.
Ledona is available in light colours 3000 K and 4000 K and comes standard with a CRI of 82 for optimum colour rendering. A CRI 92 version is available by special order.
The included LED has a life span of 50,000 hours. At the end of this life span the LED reaches, however, still 80 per cent of its rated luminous flux. Ledona can be mounted in a jiffy thanks to its tool-free spring fastening system. The DC compatible converter allows for use of this luminaire in central emergency power supply systems.
This highly energy efficient LED downlight uses up to 64% less energy compared with conventional TC-TEL downlights with electronic ballasts. When used in conjunction with the RZB light control+3 light management system, energy savings of up to 80 per cent can be obtained.
